BOUND FOR THE SKY.
Longhorn Rocketry Association
The University of Texas at Austin
We design, build, and test on campus. Then we take our rockets to the launchpad and compete against teams from around the world.

Custom airbrakes
Our custom airbrakes flew at IREC 2026. Their job: help control the rocket’s altitude.
Designed by the team
A design decision becomes a working part of the rocket.
Built. Tested. Flown.
Flight hardware, electronics, and software working together.
Explore past rockets
A rocket built by students went nearly three miles into the sky.

Flight Systems
Design parts, build flight hardware, and test how it all fits together.
Propulsion
Develop and test the systems that power flight.
Advanced Research
Explore new ideas and technologies for future flights.
Business
Plan events, share what we’re building, and organize the work behind each launch.
