High-power rockets, built and launched by UT Austin students.
Longhorn Rocketry Association
The University of Texas at Austin
We’re UT Austin students advancing aerospace innovation through high-power rockets. We compete in the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard design and testing processes while developing new technologies and preparing for aerospace careers.

Custom airbrakes
Our custom airbrakes flew at IREC 2026. Their job: help control the rocket’s altitude.
